Curiosity Application vs PIEL Data Usage & Stats

This is an application for the META Curiosity lab team at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This application will serve to promote curiosity within its user by initiating with daily reminders to complete the set out task. Additionally, selected participants will be eligible to participate in a daily mindfulness session in which they will listen to a trained professional voice and follow the audio direction. The experiment will start with participants registering themselves with their Google account, write down 6 tasks that they want to achieve through the duration of the experiment. Afterwards, user will be prompt on a daily basis at specific time interval of their choice to be reminder to complete a SINGLE custom task that they originally set. Participants will have the option to indicate whether they have successfully completed the task. Moreover, the application will rotate between prompting the user to choose a custom task and a task set out by the META lab team every day. The task set out by the META lab team will be categorized into 3 levels: easy, medium and hard. Should the user be prompt to choose a task set out by the META lab team, they will select one of the 3 difficulties level and be assigned a randomized task of that specific level. Each day, participant will receive a notification on an hourly basis starting at 8AM until 11PM prompting them to setup their activity for the day, once the user setup their activity for the day, the notification will not be triggered. Additionally, the user will be able to setup when they would want to be reminded to complete their task for the day. This notification is different then the out prompting user to setup their activity for the day. Lastly, if user is selected to complete a mindfulness session, they will be able to schedule another notification to remind themselves to complete their mindfulness session for the day. During registration, participant will be able to indicate if they want to share their data with the experiments. All data collected by this application will be anonymized and cannot be traced back to the original participant.
