Nemo Active Testing App vs TEMS™ OnDevice Usage & Stats

Nemo Active Testing Application is the Keysight proprietary communications interface and application developed for iOS based smartphones (patent pending). With the Nemo Active Testing Application (NATA) interface iPhones communicate with PC-based applications, such as Nemo Outdoor and Nemo Invex. NATA provides the real QoE measurements as all the data services are running on a smartphone. A PC user controls and runs the services on the phone via an NMR interface. The NATA application on the phone transfers the KPIs related to the data transfer to the PC. NATA is the solution for current and future technologies supporting high data rates. This initial version of NATA for iOS includes support for the following data protocols: FTP, HTTP and Ping testing. NATA also provides GPS positioning for all the measurement results. Key Benefits - Measurement is done from end-user perspective using smartphone’s QoS settings - No issues with PC CPU load lowering data rates. No need to tweak TCP/IP settings on the PC User can select via the Nemo Outdoor device configuration settings the appropriate method for performing data transfers. The NATA application must be installed on a iPhone. If NATA is activated, all supported commands/services are always executed via NATA. Commands/services that are not supported by NATA are automatically executed on the PC. The user interface uses the same manual and scripted commands with NATA as with PC.

When used together with your TEMS Investigation or TEMS Paragon PC software, the TEMS Ondevice app can test true user experience in high-speed data networks like 5G and LTE-A. The app itself will initiate data service testing on your iPhone. Tests can be issued either manually in the app or remotely via your TEMS software for automated testing. These tests are often performed while moving to test different network conditions so accurate location is needed. These tests are also performed to test from a user perspective, which many times involves network traffic during an ongoing phone call, which requires the TEMS Ondevice app to have persistent location. However location updates are only activated while a test is active. As soon as the test is done, the TEMS Ondevice app will stop the location updates. The supported services are: • HTTP GET / POST for file transfers • HTTP Get for web browsing • Ping • iPerf UL/DL for TCP or UDP TEMS Investigation and TEMS Paragon are licensed* 'PC-based' tools developed for measuring the performance and quality of wireless networks. TEMS tools are used for network deployment, troubleshooting, optimization and site verification. If you have any questions regarding TEMS tools or the TEMS Ondevice app, please contact Infovista support or your local sales representative. * The ‘PC-based’ tools and licenses required can be obtained from InfoVista.
