Thankfully to the automatic saving after every change, you don't have to worry about the safety of your notes, all your valuable strings of text will be encrypted and uploaded to your iCloud account, so even if you will lose your device, your ideas won't be lost. Encrypting key is using Keychain, so it is secured by top-level standards. All your attention will be concentrated on the text, nothing redundant; no graphic noise will be able to distract you.
