It works by checking your GPS location and if you are in or next to an attraction, point of interest or area with historical significance it will show you information, which might include text, images, videos or links. If you are not near an identified location, it will display a map with the 10 closest locations, which can be used to get information or directions. Derry Smart Tour also has a Tour Route feature, which allows you to select from a list of locations and get directions to each of them allowing you to have your own personal tour without paying for a tour guide.
