ROX Index vs F&P ROX Vector Usage & Stats

The application is designed for doctors and medical students that helps to calculate ROX. ROX is an index that is formulated to predict the chance of success or failure of HFNC. It has been studied mostly in patients with Pneumonia. It is calculated as – Oxygen saturation (SpO2) / Fraction of Inspired Oxygen (FiO2) X Respiratory rate (RR) (Range for SpO2 : 70% – 100%, Range for FiO2 : 21% – 100%, Range for RR : 12/min – 70/min) As is obvious, the higher the index, the better is the chance of success. The ROX Vector App is designed to visualise changes of respiratory rate and fraction of delivered oxygen in the vector form. The application calculates ROX index by dividing peripheral oxygen saturation by fraction of oxygen and by respiratory rate. The index has been proposed to predict success of nasal high flow therapy in patients with hypoxemic respiratory failure. The ROX Vector App can also be used as a simulation tool for reviewing various clinical scenarios. The data are stored in the device only and can be exported in xlsx format via email.
