CSS Exam Companion - Pakistan is designed to help students who are preparing for the highly competitive Central Superior Services (CSS) exam. The exam consists of 1200 marks, 600 for compulsory subjects and 600 for optional subjects. Optional subjects have to be chosen carefully from the designated groups as mentioned on FPSC website (list available in our app as well). The applications are usually opened on 1st Oct of every year and the deadline to choose your optional subjects, submit the online application and courier the printed application to FPSC office in Islamabad is usually 30th Oct of each year. Best is to complete this process a week ago to avoid any last minute adrenaline rush. These are the 6 Compulsory exams of 100 marks each: English Essay English Precis & Composition Islamic Studies (or Comparative Religion for non-Muslims) Pakistan Affairs Current Affairs General Science & Ability According to FPSC data, most of the students fail in English Essay or English Precis & Composition. Students mostly clear the exam in 2nd or 3rd attempt. A maximum of 3 attempts are allowed under the age of 30, unless you are a government employee or domicile of Azad Kashmir in which case the age limit is 32.
