ISN Skipper Science vs MoScan Usage & Stats

The Indigenous Sentinel Network Skipper Science app is designed for fishermen to record observations of local fish and wildlife, subsistence resources, and environmental phenomena and anomalies that can provide valuable data over time when collected in a reliable and consistent manner. The Indigenous Sentinel Network’s Skipper Science app enables fishermen to report data like fish caught, fish released, hours worked, sea surface temperature, mammal sightings, fishing depth, etc. simply and easily from their phones on the fishing grounds. Data can be logged from the water regardless of internet access through the Skipper Science smartphone app and then can be uploaded when a Wi-Fi connection is available. The program is entirely voluntary. Start logging observations from your next opener! Data collected from the Skipper Science Partnership will be compiled into a report characterizing the ecological status of Alaska fishing grounds. This report will be delivered to policy makers and fisheries managers working on climate actions that will help sustain the health of our fisheries. The Skipper Science Partnership is made for and by fishermen. For information on joining the Skipper Science Partnership please contact us at skipperscience@aleut.com. Add your voice to a community of fishermen advocating for climate resilient fisheries!
