Following in his fathers footsteps he began his career with a degree in Agriculture at Durham University, England. With a newly acquired farm in Scotland, he was surprised when God intervened and led him firstly to become a Methodist Minister and then a Baptist Pastor before taking up the calling to become a prominent International Bible teacher. He authored more than eighty books which have been translated into many languages. At the age of 90, David continued to teach and write books, until the end of his days on earth in 2020 In Unlocking the Bible, Pawson presents a book by book study of the whole Bible. Each talk is based on his belief that the Bible should be studied, as it was written, a book at a time, certainly not a verse, or even a chapter at a time, which can often be taken out of context; and that each book is best understood by discovering the reason 'why', and for 'whom' the book was written. In this series of talks David set out the background, purpose, meaning and relevance of each book of the Bible.
