The Walking Classroom app provides almost 200 fun, educational podcasts for kids in grades 3–8 to listen to while they take a brisk walk.
Podcast topics are aligned with state standards and include:

Each 15-minute podcast in our 100% ad-free app also includes discussion questions to spark conversation.
The idea behind the research-proven Walking Classroom program is simple: Students a take brisk 20-minute walk while listening to custom-written, kid-friendly educational podcasts. Each podcast begins with a brief health literacy message and includes a character value woven throughout the narrative to support social and emotional learning. Lesson plans and quizzes are available to help educators effectively discuss and review the podcast material. There are over 350 podcasts listed in the Storitopia app. Each show is hand curated and approved by our editorial team and categorized by age and interest. Kids or caregivers can create a profile (one for each child) and customize playlists based on that childs age and interests. Listeners can discover podcasts by searching name or episode information. For all of the podcasts listed in the app, users can view the description of the podcast as well as Storitopia's categorizations (age groups, ad supported, categories, and content style).

ADVOCACY
Storitopia is a member of the children's audio advocacy group KIDS LISTEN. The organiztion has recently released a study of the podcast listening habits of American families with kids. 48% of those surveyed say they listen to children's podcasts almost daily and 91% listen once a week.
It is our mission at Storitopia to share awesome audio with kids everywhere, inspiring curiousity, imagination, and learning. Our hope is to educate families, teachers, caregivers, and kids about the amazing benefits of podcasts and audio learning. We hope to encourage everyone, big and small, young and wise, to consider the world of podcasting, whether using it to educate, entertain, or both. Our goal is to create a community where stories are shared, discovery and learning are encouraged, and storytelling is used as a way for kids to make connections, create togetherness, and foster empathy and understanding.
