Maqam / Makam - Mode vs Psaltikon Tonarion Usage & Stats
MAQAM/ MAKAM – MODE App is a glossary which provides basic characteristics of four official music theory systems, as they are taught today, such as melodic formulas, intervallic and stem structures as well as music theory interval subdivisions.
A tool that guides you through
-Turkish Makam (Makamlar)
-Arabic Maqam (Maqamat)
-Byzantine Modes (Echoi) and
-Greek Urban/Folk Modes (Laikoi Dromoi)
This App provides for each selected makam/maqam - mode:
1. Its name (in English and in the language of its origin)
2. Its main characteristics (root, dominant tone(s), leading tones, direction)
3. Its intervallic structure (the intervals based on the corresponding music theory
system)
4. Its stem structure (pentachord/ tetrachord subdivisions).
5. Its juxtaposition to those maqams/ makams – modes that belong to the three
other theory systems but share the same name and/or intervallic structure.
6. The option of listening to the frequency of each note based on the selected
tradition's interval subdivision.

"Psaltikon Tonarion" is a program that can be used as a tuner and/or as an isocrate.

-Ability to edit the tonality of each music note separately.
-Ability to detect the tonality from the microphone!
-The tonality can be changed by the step of one point or several each time.
-Ability of selecting maximum and minimum tonality.
-Ability to balance low and high frequencies (equalizer).
-Easy to use. You don't have to press a separate button to stop the voice.
-Different behavior in its use as a tuner and as an isocrate. As a tuner, the voice stops as soon as you release the button. As an isocrate, it stops when you press the same note again.
-In isocrate mode, only useful notes with larger buttons are displayed to make it easier to handle. Optional you can view all the notes.
