Welcome to the weird world of Zoibs - a colourful and retro game with 200 fun and intriguing puzzles where your goal is to eliminate all the numbered tiles. Combine pairs of them until they have all gone; threes become twos, twos become ones, and when the ones disappear you have victory! Push things around with your eyeball bug or rotate the whole puzzle to manipulate the objects until you can beat the level in the shortest number of moves. It all seems simple if not for the fiendish traps, mind boggling labyrinths, the surreal pitfalls, and downright weird physics, that will bamboozle your mind, twist your senses, and up-end your perception! But don't worry, we start you off easy.
The story of Zoibs dates back to 1991 when I developed the first version for the quirky British "Sam Coupé" 8-bit computer. Featuring 16-colour graphics and a tiny 256x192 pixel screen, the game contained about 25 levels. Ah, the good old days! Shortly afterwards I ported the game to the Atari ST before life moved on. 30 years later, with nostalgia taking hold, I decided Zoibs still has an allure. Each puzzle is a little surrealist gem and the mechanics are apparently still unique and still great fun to play. I have rebooted the game for the iPhone and iPad, keeping the original core game design the same. Zoibs now features 200 hand-crafted levels brimming with weird new puzzles, surreal oddities, and more surprises!
The first 50 levels are free to play. If you are still enjoying the game by then, please consider supporting me by unlocking the next 125 levels with in-app purchases. Zoibs is as much fun to design levels for as it is to play, so if people are enjoying the game then I plan to add many more surreal puzzles in the future! Please let me know what you think at support@meticulous-software.co.uk, post a review and let your friends know!
