Autism Social Video Exercises vs Articulation Teacher - Speech Usage & Stats
Interactive video exercises to build social confidence for persons with ASD.
Practice conversations before they happen!
Social Niceties (SoNi) has been designed to model frequent social interactions and practice conversations before they happen in real life. The app consists of hundreds of videos where actors appear on a screen to initiate most frequent social situations. The learner is expected to answer and the teacher, parent, or a speech pathologist can model appropriate response. SoNi application takes a role of the other person in the conversation so the teacher can fully concentrate on modeling the response. This approach minimizes the danger of accidentally learning echolalic responses and confusion of which part of the dialogue to repeat and which part of dialogue to respond to.
Teacher has a full control over the videos and reinforcers using Bluetooth keyboard connected to the device. If you prefer not to use a keyboard, swipe right to reveal navigation buttons.
LIST OF KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
Backspace or ‘H’: go back to Home screen
Spacebar: reinforcer and the next video
'N' or Right arrow: Next video
'R' or Down arrow: Replay the video
'E' or Up arrow: play the reinforcer (i.e. play the Effect)
It is best to control the lessons from a Bluetooth keyboard to give the student some privacy in his/her interaction with an actor. If you don't have a keyboard, swipe right in the video screen to reveal the navigation buttons.
WORKING WITH A STUDENT
Start a video and let the student respond. Be patient. The student may need time to contemplate. If you are satisfied with his/her response to the actor, click the 'Spacebar' or the 'Reward & Next' button. If you would prefer to improve the student's response, provide your feedback and click the 'R' key or the 'Repeat' button to replay the video.

Improve your child's articulation and pronunciation! Brought to you by a Speech Language Pathologist and the creator of the SpeakEasy: Home Speech Therapy app which has accelerated early language development for over 100,000 families.
With Articulation Teacher, you choose specific sounds to work on with your child. You can work on Early Sounds like D or T, Middle Sounds like G or S, or Late Sounds like L or R.
Articulation Teacher includes at home articulation activities to do with your child outside of the app as well as games to play with your child in the app. All suggestions are evidence-based and research-backed. Let's dive into what each sound set includes:
---
In-App Games
Our articulation games are best played side by side with your child, but if your child is up for it they can play the games on their own as well. For each sound, we have the following games:
Splat: say the selected word, and have your child splat it from the choices on the screen!
Name It: our simplest game, this is meant for rapidly trying to say different words using digital flash cards. Swipe to the next word and help your child say it out loud.
Sound Check: look at and listen to each word, and have your child decide whether the word includes the sound you're working on or not.
Space Match: play this out-of-this-world memory game, saying each word as you flip over each card, to work on both articulation and cognitive skills.
Paper Games: print a list of articulation practice words and play these games around your house, bringing articulation practice directly into the world around you.
---
Home Activities
Each sound has 5 activities to try with your child at home. You can read these activities ahead of time, then do them with your child when you can. We recommend trying to do at least one Home Activity each day, and we encourage repetition as much as possible!
Home Activities that focus on pronunciation and articulation are the most effective way to spend time with your child to work on speech development. We use videos, books, songs, and the world around you to help integrate articulation practice into every day.

Advanced Sounds: L, Final -L, R, R Blends, S Blends, and TH
---
More Features
Each sound also has an intro video that teaches you how the sound is made, as well as a digital and printable cue card which you can use to help remind your child to pronounce a sound. This cue card fits within the cueing hierarchy explained in the intro video. Cues are an essential part of articulation practice that we integrate directly into our games and activities.
Plus, check out developmental milestones to know if your child is on track, and read free learning articles related to articulation development.
Articulation Teacher is also meant to be used by SLPs during their sessions as an aid to articulation practice.
