MoodRing is an app designed to help teens monitor their mood with the goal of identifying patterns over time. Understanding and tracking these patterns may lead to better habits and improved mood.
Parents and/or guardians receive weekly mood updates as well as other behavioral data their teens can choose to share.
MoodRing is only available to participants of the Technology and Emotions (TECH-E) Study.
App Features:
~Discover mood patterns over time based on your daily activity and Mood Check-Ins.
~Easily add mood building activities that help you feel accomplished and empowered.
MoodRing is a part of the Technology and Emotions (TECH-E) Study led by Dr. Ana Radovic, a physician at the Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Health at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and a researcher in the field of adolescent mental health. The goals of the study are to understand whether patterns of smartphone use are related to symptoms of depression and if technology can help adolescents manage their mental health. The study is recruiting youth ages 12-18 with a prior or present history of depression and a smartphone. Some participants will test a smartphone app. All participants will complete online surveys and receive compensation.
