DigiStix Drummer AUv3 Plugin vs Tape Pro Usage & Stats

DigiStix Drummer is an AUv3 compatible drum machine / sampler plugin for your favourite DAW. The program has a host of features which allow you to sample your own drumkits and trigger them either using a host application via MIDI or using the inbuilt pattern and song editor which automatically syncs tempo with your DAW. There as so many great sources of professionally recorded drum kits these days which can be imported into DigiStix allowing you to build a catalog of your favourite sounds. Alternatively use the built in sampler to record your very own kits. DigiStix has 16 assignable pads which can be quickly mapped to individual drum samples or recordings. Each pad has it's own volume level, panning, reverb, delay, reverse and sample length settings. You can assign each pad to a mute group which allow for instance a closed hi-hat to mute an open high hat etc. Each pad can be assigned a one shot or looped sample. This enables you to import pre-looped samples at a specified BPM and have them play when a pad is pressed. You can also import up to 3 samples per pad and use in multi-sample mode which allows different velocity levels to trigger different pads etc. One great feature of DigiStix is the ability to none destructively assign samples from different kits to the pads for live performance and song creation. We also provide an intelligent melodic mapping mode which maps selected samples over all 16 pads tuned to a selected key and scale. The inbuilt sequencer allows patterns of up to 64 beats in length. Each pattern can have it's own time signature allowing complex arrangements can be constructed. Up to 256 patterns can be chained together to make a soung which are saved independently of the kits. The pattern editor also allows you to enter 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16th note triplets as well as reverse sample and accented notes. We provide easy velocity editing with 'draw in' drum rolls etc. DigiStix also features a 16 channel mixer, configurable digital delay, reverb, chorus / flanger, bit crunch, overdrive, 8 band EQ and digital filtering options (HP and LP filters). Each drum pad can be mapped to an external MIDI trigger allowing external drum pads to be connected if you wish. Tape Pro is a multi-fx tape emulation AUv3 plugin and app that introduces warmth, frequency shaping, modulation, noise and delay. Whether you want to accurately replicate a microcassette tape running at 1.2cm/s, or you want to drive a mastering grade tape machine with strange distortion shapes into a high feedback delay engine, Tape Pro is the plugin for the job. Saturation The saturation module is the first part of the signal chain within Tape Pro. It’s very flexible as it isn’t restricted to the traditional sound of tape and can be used to tune into your desired distortion sound. The module has 5 user parameters: Type, Drive, Asymmetry, Hysteresis and Remanence. The types of saturation on offer are: Tape, Digital, Rectify, Half-Rectify, Sine & Smooth. Response The response module within Tape Pro models the dynamic frequency response of tape. This can bring warmth, presence, or even jarring qualities to your audio - this is entirely subjective of course! The module has 3 user parameters: Type, Low Pass & High Loss. Tape Pro includes the following impulse responses: Cassette Type 1, Cassette Type 2, Cassette Type 4, Worn Copi-Delay, New Copi-Delay, Mod Copi-Delay, Master SA812, Master TM15, Microcassette 1.2cm/s, Microcassette 2.4cm/s, Semi-Pro RB77 7.5ips & Semi-Pro RB77 15ips. Tape Pro also includes Minimum Phase (MP) versions of the IRs listed above (not including the copi-delay versions). If you are using Tape Pro in parallel, on a bus or on a send, we recommend that a minimum phase IR is used. (For more information on this please see the explanation in the manual available from our website). Noise The Noise module applies real, sampled tape noises to the signal chain. The module has 4 user parameters: Type, Pre/Post Delay, Gain & Crosstalk. The noises included are the same as listed above in the response module. Wow & Flutter The Wow and Flutter module emulates the natural irregularities in the physical medium of tape. Wow recreates the low speed fluctuations of tape speed, while Flutter recreates the high speed fluctuations. The modules have 10 parameters in total. Wow: Depth, Sync, Rate, Mod, Sync x2 and Mod Rate. Flutter: Depth, Rate, Mod, Mod Rate. Delay The Delay module is an emulation of an analogue tape delay machine. The module has 11 user parameters: Dry, Wet, Time L, Time R, Feedback L, Feedback R, Portamento, Enable, Initial, Sync and Link. Tape Pro is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.
