GaitRate vs Gait Analysis App - StepLab + Usage & Stats

The GaitRate App is a mobile app replacement for the traditional stopwatch method of gait speed measurement typically used home visit assessments and research studies. The app returns time, a calculated gait speed measurement (based on selected course length), and survival estimates for older patients (65-95), based on published research. The GaitRate App is intended to provide health professionals and researchers with a tool to easily measure short-distance gait speed in their practice and compare the results against the published norms. The GaitRate App provides three app modes for gait speed measurement and estimations related to published norms for individuals 65 to 95 years of age.\n\n 1. Measure Mode: Measures gait speed in meters per second for different short course lengths (3-5 meters or 9-15 feet). 2. Measure + Estimate Mode: Measures gait speed and provides median (average) years-of-life remaining estimates. For this mode, estimates require age (65-95), gender, and usual gait speed over a four-meter course.\n\n 3. Estimator Mode: If you have a short-distance gait speed measurement, this mode allows entry of that gait speed, along with age (65-95), and gender to get median (average) years-of-life remaining estimates. Measurements are started and stopped using either volume button to allow eyes-free operation or by pressing the screen in the designated area. The resulting time and gait speed, based on your selected course length are returned in meters per second.

StepLab is an app that measures your gait by attaching a smart sensor to your foot and obtains a gait analysis report. More than 10 items including number of steps, stride length, walking speed, slide length, cadence, minimum and maximum toe height, stance/swing leg ratio (%), bed-off angle (degrees), etc. (and left-right differences in each item) Visualize the subject's gait status by analyzing and quantifying gait data. In addition, with this update, we have added a function for evaluating walking data using AI (ChatGPT). This utilizes ChatGPT to perform scoring and evaluation based on comparisons with those of the same age, and to provide simple exercise advice, making it possible for staff without specialized knowledge to provide evaluation advice for subjects. Register multiple users and save and manage their analysis results on the app and cloud. Measurement results saved in the cloud can be checked on a computer browser, and it is also possible to compare the test subject's data with national average data. Since it can be extracted from the app as CSV, it can be useful for gait analysis at hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, research institutes, etc. Some of the other main features include: ・Video recording is possible at the same time during measurement. You can save and view the analysis result data. ・ Up to 5 events can be input during measurement. Data can be analyzed for each section by dividing the measurement into sections such as getting up from a chair, starting to walk, or arbitrarily set points. ・It has an automatic start/stop function, and when measuring a subject who requires nursing care by one person, it is possible to measure the subject while providing nursing care by placing an iPad or iPhone on a stand etc. ・It is possible to check the progress of measurement results for individual subjects on the app and cloud. ・You can compare subjects with average data that can be narrowed down by country, region, gender, and age group on the cloud. To use this app, you will need to purchase the Movella DOT sensor for StepLab from HELTEC Co., Ltd. and obtain the license key necessary to use the app.
