You can run tvheadend on a linux device, plugin in a tv card and an antenna and you have full a free DVR with bowerbird. This app is designed for simplicity and ease of set up. The UI should be familiar if you have used any DVR. Browse the program guide, watch live tv. Play your finished recordings and skip ads (30s skip) with a swipe while watching a recording, swipe back for 10 second skip back.

You can check the program guide, search for a certain show, and then schedule a show or a whole series for recording.
This app works in combination with a TVheadend server in your network.
It is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Dutch.
Please make sure to use channel icons and an XMLTV source for your EPG info that contains lots of images.
