Falling in love with English as a second language has never been easier! The key lies in having a happy learning process. Most parents are overwhelmed and even confused by the sheer number of products and materials for English learning, and they have no idea how and what to choose. What really matters is whether your kid is deeply engaged and enjoying the content.
PadKaKa integrates three of kids’ favorite things into English learning: playing cards, animations, and tablets. This innovative approach takes your baby into the world of English effortlessly and helps builds up proficiency during the critical period for language acquisition. Your toddler will be learning while playing with the cards and enjoying funny animations played on your chosen tablet.
Why is animation important to language learning?
Did you know that during language acquisition, kids rely heavily on visual cues to make sense of what other people are saying? As a matter of fact, the visual absorption rate is 83%, far higher than the 11% for auditory absorption (Professor Wentz, US child education expert).
This makes animation not just a way to attract kids but a critical tool in English learning. Imagine a mom first asking her baby to come over for a hug: She holds her arms wide open and repeats the request several times, and the child acquires the meaning of “hug” after a few practices.
Based on this rationale, PadKaKa presents a series of animations. By combining scenario-based animations and “All-English” conversations, PadKaKa helps your baby to learn English in a natural and effortless manner.
Age for PadKaKa
PadKaKa is suitable for children aged 2.5-7 years old. However, it is highly recommended for use before the age of 5, as the early years are the critical learning period for language.
Top 5 Features
Kid Mode
The Kid mode involves using PadKaKa cards to trigger playback of the animations on your tablet. When the QRcode on an animation card is scanned, the tablet will play the animation for that card. This core feature of the product is designed to allow children to function independently. The additional recording feature allows you or your kids to record your own voices for self-evaluation.
Flash
“Flashing” refers to playing a string of chosen cards fast, non-stop. This stimulates children’s “right brain” functions and triggers graphic memorization. Given these benefits, it is recommended by numerous education experts. This innovative feature allows you to choose the items to be “flashed”: “picture and vocabulary”, ”picture only”, or “vocabulary only”. It also has two display modes: automatic and manual.
Bedtime
The Bedtime mode allows repeated replays of the cards in the Candy Jar, such as those for children’s songs. This mode is ideal for your kid’s bedtime entertainment or relaxation. You can also set a timer to control automatic replay for, say, 30 minutes, removing any worries about returning to turn it off and disturbing your child’s slumber. You can also choose whether to keep the screen on or turn it off.
Outdoor
Normally, an Internet connection is required for PadKaKa to play animations. If you wish to use PadKaKa when you have no access to the Internet, you can use the “Outdoor” mode to download selected animations to your device so that your child can still enjoy PadKaKa while you are on the go.
Test
The “Test” function offers various ways for you to check your kid’s learning results. There are four different approaches to testing: “picture + vocabulary + sound”, “picture + sound”, “vocabulary + sound”, or “sound only”.
