This app provides a fast and simple method of converting Roman Numerals into ordinary Arabic numbers and vice versa. It includes a customized Roman Numeral keyboard with the 7 common Roman Numeral characters (M, D, C, L, X, V, and I) as well as 13 additional less-common characters that allow this app to handle larger numbers than most Roman Numeral Converters.
Simple Roman Numeral conversion rules and the most common characters only support numbers up to 4,999. The expanded character set allows this app to support numbers up to 4,999,999.
Although there are common conventions for writing numbers in Roman Numeral Convention, there is no formal standard for doing so. For example, the number 988 is commonly represented as CMLXXXVIII; however, IIXM is equally valid. This app utilizes an conversion algorithm that properly converts any Roman Numeral string containing any combination of the 20 characters supported by the app.
We welcome your comments and suggestions for improvement of the app. You can send feedback to support@dohmann.com and if you like the app, please leave a review.
