Puzzling Poetry Schatkist vs Fractio Quest Usage & Stats
Piece the poems back together and bring colour back to the world by completing all the levels along the way. Puzzling Poetry Treasure Chest is an addictive drag-and-drop game where the world has lost its colour. It is the player’s job to bring the colour back by piecing together the poems. Read and solve poems by twelve well-known Dutch poets, including Annie M.G. Schmidt. After completing all the tasks, you also get the chance to create your own poem. Puzzling Poetry Treasure Chest stimulates vocabulary, creativity and reading comprehension in children and therefore provides a useful contribution to lessons. The game has been developed by Studio Louter and Lucas Hirsch in collaboration with the Dutch Foundation for Literature and the Creative Industries Fund NL. Ted van Lieshout, the Schrijverscentrale and education professionals have also made creative contributions to the quality of the app’s design.

Fractio Quest is a free resource developed as part of an Erasmus+ project, ‘FramingCLIL.’ Players must use their knowledge of fractions in a series of exciting challenges to help Captain Taylor and his assistant, River, to defeat the evil Skylord Quinn and find the lost city of Multiplicity and the Magic Compass.
It consists of six games, designed and developed by a team of educational experts led by the Faculty of Education at Manchester Met in the UK in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Cordoba in Spain, VUB in Brussels, Belgium, Pedagosiche Hochshule in Salzburg, Austria and the Universita di Torino, Italy.
The games aim to support maths and language development and are intended for use by teachers and children in schools and at home. Research has shown that fractions is an area of mathematics in which children experience significant difficulties and that language can often be a barrier to learning, especially for children whose first language is not the same as the main language being used in the classroom.
These games have been designed to provide a safe, unpressurised and engaging space for learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of fractions as well as supporting their language development. This version is currently only available in English, French and Dutch with additional versions in Italian, Spanish, and German to follow in Spring 2020.
