Mavi Learning Rhymes vs Word Reader - Skinny Books 1 Usage & Stats
Mavi Learning Rhymes is a word family and rhyming word game to help your child learn to recognize words by letter patterns. Learning groups of words that have similar letter patterns (such as bat, fat, mat, that or bake, cake, lake, take, etc.) is an efficient strategy to help your children improve their reading skills and decode new words from letter patterns. All of the app's 1,100 words are categorized into 332 groups of words (such as an, at, eath, ide, ard, irt, own, ood, etc.). Your child can also learn 41 beginning rhymes and 155 end rhymes. In the word family game, your child will learn beginning sounds and rhymes of the words in the same or different family. They have to find the missing beginning sound or rhyme sound in the word and then change some parts of the word to make the new one. Your child will earn the paper plane in each correct word, so that they can throw them to pop the balloons in the flight throwing game. Try to make correct words and collect the paper plane as many as you can! In the rhyming word game, your child will have to find words that have the same rhyme sound to collect the paper plane too. This game will help your children remember words in groups and improve their reading and writing skills in a fun and interactive environment.
Mavi Learning Rhymes also includes a progress report (play history with game details) for teachers and parents to track their child's performance. The additional setup options allow you to control the level of word difficulty (For example, you can set up words with the same beginning sound or rhymes) and customize the number of questions or number of tries to match your child.
**All words have been recorded by professional voice talent.

Word Family Readers are an easy and fun way for children to learn to read. The stories use rhyming words that have the same ending sound but a different beginning sound. Chuck who had bad luck and Mox the ox and his box are just two of the entertaining stories.
The Word Family Reader approach is endorsed by educators as a great way for young children to acquire a basic knowledge of phonics. There are no pictures in these books. When children read them, they are truly reading – not relying on pictures to recognize words.
Word Family Readers –
• start young children reading right away.
• have 42 stories to be read.
• provide audio versions of each story.
• reinforce reading skills through games.
• teach children to read and spell 200 one-syllable words.
The two authors of this series, Peggy Gisler and Marge Eberts, are very experienced reading teachers who –
• have written more than 50 textbooks for beginning readers that are used in schools across the country.
• teach teachers how to teach reading.
• hold reading specialist degrees (Ed.S.) in education.
• won the Children’s Reading Round Table award for their beginning reader – Pancakes, Crackers, and Pizza.
