Caring Light for Caregivers vs Alzheimer's Usage & Stats
The Caring Light App provides information about how to cope with the difficulties related to caring for a person with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia. This self-paced program also contains calming mindfulness practices that may help during stressful moments.
Our educational curriculum covers the common aspects of caregiving that may overwhelm caregiver, and explains exercises designed to alleviate related stress.
The app has short video lessons, including:
* About Dementia
* Get Prepared for Caregiving
* Reduce Stressful Moments
* Understand What is Happening
* Practical Tips for Difficult Situations
* Take Care of Yourself
The calming practices of the app feature an introduction to mindfulness and short exercises that can be followed daily. Each practice provides voice instructions with soothing background video and music. The mindfulness exercises were developed by Renée Burgard, LCSW, Mindfulness & Health.
The Caring Light curriculum is based on past research by Photozig, Inc. and Stanford University, with the participation of Dr. Gallagher Thompson, Dr. Thompson, and associates. We hope that our curriculum may teach skills and help families dealing with caregiving, as it has helped many caregivers in our past research studies.

This app does NOT explain how to provide care for a person with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementia. For example, the app does NOT cover: how to bath, dress, feed, and treat an individual.
