TherapySelector vs Know HBV Usage & Stats

TherapySelector supports you as a physician to easily and quickly choose a data-based, personalized treatment for hypertension and hepatitis C for and with your patient during consultation hours. The app shows in a single glance information about the effectiveness of medication based on the disease remission (systolic blood pressure lower than 140 mm Hg for hypertension and viral clearance in hepatitis C), the likelihood of adverse events, cost and patient group size. This overview allows you to easily and quickly decide on the best personalized treatment method for your patient, based on study data. How does TherapySelector work? First you enter the requested characteristics of your patient by answering 4 simple questions about etiology, disease stage, previous treatments and comorbidities. Based on this, a profile of the patient is determined. The app then shows an overview of all registered treatments for that specific patient profile, based on frequently updated study results. For each therapy you find information about effectiveness, possible adverse events and costs. TherapySelector currently provides the following features: • Determination of patient profiles based on four simple questions about the patient. • Probability of "success" of all registered medication (combinations) for hypertension and hepatitis C, together with the probability of adverse events associated with the patient profile, based on individual patient data from key clinical scientific studies. • For hypertension: overview of therapy options with Thiazide diuretics (THZ), Calcium Channel Blockers (CCA), ACE inhibitors (ACEi) or Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARB). Information on monotherapy with dose increase (Titrate), and results of stepwise addition of medication (Titrate & Add). • Detail information, including information about dosage (of the therapy regime) and the cost of a specific treatment. • Availability in both English and Dutch. TherapySelector is intended to provide physicians and patients personalized information to support them in choosing the most appropriate treatment. In doing so, the app complements guidelines that are based on the ‘average’ patient. The TherapySelector app can be used without creating an account. Developed with (academic) medical centers and research institutes TherapySelector is being developed by TherapySelector in collaboration with physicians and scientists associated with universities and leading academic medical centers such as the Erasmus MC, LUMC and MUMC+. The data in the app has been authorized by specialists from Dutch scientific associations. The results are calculated using anonymous patient data from scientific studies of published randomized controlled trials, other phase 2 & 3 studies and prospective real-life studies around the world (high quality research). Research groups and sponsors make their data available for this purpose. About TherapySelector TherapySelector B.V. is a social enterprise. The chronic hepatitis B Treatment Decision Tool for Adults is developed by the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University in response to the WHO Global Health Sector Strategy on Viral Hepatitis to increase treatment rates when indicated to at least 80% by 2030. The app is an educational tool intended for primary healthcare professionals particularly in resource-limited countries as a general guide in the monitoring of HBsAg positive adults, and when antiviral treatment would be recommended based on the guidelines adapted from the World Health Organization or from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. This app provides general guidance to primary healthcare professionals and is not a substitute for the advice provided by specialists in the management of liver disease and chronic hepatitis. Any course of action recommended or suggested in this educational tool should not be undertaken by the healthcare professional without an evaluation of the patient’s condition and contraindications. The patient should be provided with information about hepatitis B facts, and the potential benefits and risks of antiviral treatment. The app is not intended for use by non-healthcare professionals or patients. Non-healthcare professionals or patients must seek a doctor’s advice in addition to using this app before making any medical decisions.
