Elemental Weather is a cloud-based service and mobile application providing comprehensive weather data, including current conditions, extended forecasts, and historical weather data for web and mobile applications supporting active user communities. Available weather metrics include temperature, rainfall, wind speed (including gusts), snow, perceived temperature, humidity, and air pressure. Historical weather data is available at hourly and daily levels. Forecasts are available for hourly, daily, and 12-hour (day/night) periods. In addition to current, forecasted, and historical weather data, the Elemental Weather API provides hourly observations from the NOAA network of National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) buoys and Coastal Marine Automated Network (C-MAN) stations. All stations measure wind speed, direction, and gust; atmospheric pressure; and air temperature. In addition, all buoy stations, and some C- MAN stations, measure sea surface temperature and wave height and period. Conductivity and water current are measured at selected stations. Weather condition data is also available from offshore oil rigs and ships at sea participating in government data reporting programs. The Elemental Weather app also presents near real-time data provided by the US Geological Services (USGS) Groundwater and Streamflow Information Program. The program supports the collection and delivery of streamflow and water-level information from approximately 8,500 sites and water-level information from more than 1,700 additional sites. Our clients include marine fishery managers (at the federal, state, and local levels), nonprofit environmental and conservation agencies, universities, recreational anglers, outdoor enthusiasts.
