Pt Pal Pro is used with your physical, occupational and/or speech therapist(s), or any clinician/doctor that is giving paper instructions or survey instruments to the patient, including; Cardiac Rehab, Brain Injury, Women's Health, IVF, OB and Wound Care.
Pt Pal Pro lets your clinician retire paper instructions and surveys and send your medical instructions, tasks, exercises and activities directly to your phone. Pt Pal leverages CareKit, ResearchKit and HealthKit frameworks for surveys, task management and integration with other apps and devices. Pt Pal Pro is the first health care app to employ Apple’s CareKit and HealthKit and was showcased at WWDC 2016.
Pt Pal uses CareKit to track health monitor symptoms and share the information with healthcare providers. This allows users to understand and manage their health conditions actively with the help of their care team. Pt Pal integrates with Health App to augment accelerometer data collected by iPhone to show your clinicians the number of daily steps taken.
Pt Pal Pro uses CareKit and ResearchKit and includes the following features for clinical practice & research:
1. Activities: Allows clinicians to send care tasks, education, exercises and surveys to monitor and track progress and provide active intervention.
Surveys include:
- Patient Reported Outcomes surveys
- Journals
- Logs, e.g. Food, Fluid, Wounds, Sleep, Brain Injury recovery process, etc.
2. Reminders: Notifications are sent out to remind patients to do any tasks at a set time and if any are not completed.
3. Complex healthcare interventions: Allows clinicians to send patients information in various formats. Pt Pal includes multiple tools for patients such as noise distractions while doing an exercise for tracking focus.
4. Multi-media interface: Written descriptions of self-care and caregiver information as well as ability to record video with your clinician for playback.
5. Dashboard: See your completion data in the app as you progress with your care tasks.
6. Care Team: Pt Pal has the whole care team and their information on Pt Pal.
7. Connect: Communicate with your clinician and receive messages about your care.
8. Caregiver: Include support partners in your care. Allow the support partner to see your progress, care tasks and help with your care. Support partners can receive their own care information, integral for their self-care and enabling them to care for another. Pt Pal also lets family members view activity remotely.
9. Consent: Pt Pal allows patients to sign a consent agreement through the app using their signature.
10. Tracking: Pt Pal monitors recovery, progress, wellness with medication reminders, appointments, and healthcare information critical to successful recovery.
With your permission Pt Pal allows you to authorize collection of HealthKit data. We ask your permission to collect the following data from HealthKit: heart rate, sleep, steps, walking+running distance, workouts. BASIC VERSUS PAID SUBSCRIPTION CAPABILITIES:
Without a subscription to PT Timer you have access only to limited basic functionality. During a free trial and during a paid subscription you can setup new exercises with instructions, timers, schedules and more, but after a free trial and without a paid subscription you will have limited functionality of those exercises.
• In basic (unpaid) mode you can: view the regiment of exercises that you setup during a free trial or during an active subscription; view instructions and pictures; receive alerts according to the already defined schedule; check-off when you have completed exercises and enter and view notes about the ease or difficulty of completing each exercise; export to PDF.
• Functionality and services provided only with a subscription: timing and counting; adding and editing exercises and workouts; modification of schedules; technical support.
• Note that this app does not itself provide any exercises or instructions (other than a few of examples). You must enter exercises and instructions for your own needs.
TERMS OF SUBSCRIPTIONS:
Several subscription options are available with different renewal periods. They all provide access to the full functionality of the app. The prices of subscriptions vary by country and are shown within the app. Payment will be charged to the Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription automatically renews unless the subscription is cancelled at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. The Apple Account will be charged within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period at the price specified for current subscription. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and cancelled by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription.
