Velocity for Math & Literacy vs Articulate F & V Usage & Stats
“On Your Mark, Get Set, … GO!” Improve your academic game with DimensionU’s Velocity!
Velocity is a first person, real-time multiplayer racing game, designed to help reinforce and improve student learning on over 400 standards-based Math and Literacy Skills in grades 2 – 10. The app is free, and requires a valid DimensionU user account. Just install the app and sign-in with your existing username and password.
The game objective: be the first to cross the finish line by racing through the obstacles and solving problems along the way to earn points.
Each player can customize their own skill practice while still competing with others who may be playing on different skills, levels or subject areas.
In-game instructional help is available by tapping the “?” for assistance. Full review of all incorrectly answered questions is provided to students.
Classroom educators can use the Teachers by DimensionU app to set-up curriculum-customized Velocity game rooms for their classes that also allow for collaborative team games.

This application is a great clinical tool for a speech therapist, but it can also be used by parents to help their children practice the "f' and "v" sounds. English language learners may also find this app helpful for pronunciation practice. The app consists of 86 images with optional spoken words and text, providing “f” and "v" practice through auditory bombardment or flashcard drilling. A fun and visually appealing matching game keeps users motivated to practice their articulation while they play.
Articulate F & V was created by an ASHA certified and licensed speech-language pathologist. Use this app to address the phonological processes of fricative stopping, stridency deletion, cluster simplification and final consonant deletion. The various phonetic contexts provided include:
• initial /f/ 1 syllable
• initial /f/ multisyllabic
• intersyllabic /f/
• final /f/
• initial /fl/
• initial /fr/
• initial /v/
• intersyllabic /v/
• final /v/
