It pays to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Simply put, UnitedHealthcare Motion® 1) gives you three daily walking goals and 2) rewards you financially for achieving them. Our walking goals are designed to promote health and wellness. Reaching a high daily step count can be important, but there’s more to maximizing the health benefits of walking: Motion’s “FIT” goals are a prescription to move with Frequency, Intensity, and Tenacity every day. Did you know that even a 1-hour workout may not be enough to reduce health risk factors if the majority of your day is spent sitting? We lose two hours of life for every hour we sit, Dr. James Levine, a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic, writes in his book “Get up!” Let Motion incent you to get up frequently for brief walks every day. Money may be a good incentive. UnitedHealthcare Motion gives you the opportunity to earn over $1,000 per plan year for out-of-pocket medical expenses by doing more of what you may already do: walk. You can earn for one, two, or all three goals each day. Earnings are deposited quarterly into an HRA or HSA, as applicable. HEALTH APP DATA With your permission, UHC Motion app reads data from the Health App specific to your workout or exercise activities for the day. Our app uses this data to provide you with additional options to achieve your health and wellness goals.
