Review of book on which the app is based: "The sixth edition does not disappoint. This book truly covers an exhaustive list of emergency procedures with great attention to detail. The graphs and figures accurately demonstrate many of the procedures, making this an invaluable resource for quick review at the bedside."-Michael Zwank, MD, RDMS, FACEP (Universtiy of Minnesota Medical School) Doody Review: 5 stars This app is very intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing you to browse the contents or search for topics. The powerful search tool gives you word suggestions that appear in the text as you type, so it is lightning fast and helps with spelling those long medical terms. The search tool also keeps a recent history of past search terms so you can go back to a previous search result very easily. You have the ability to create notes and bookmarks separately for text, images and tables to enhance your learning. You can also change the text size for easier reading. This app is also automatically optimized for whatever size device you are currently using, either phone or tablet. The MedCall Advisors Physician application is designed to manage workflow and facilitate real-time tele- triage for patients experiencing an injury, or illness. The application will monitor the status of available physicians who participate in a nationwide physician network dedicated to tele-triage. All participating physicians are board certified in Emergency Medicine and are a member of MedCall’s physician network. All physicians must have the MedCall Advisors Physician application downloaded on their smart device. Each physician must log into the application to display availability status which connects to the MedCall Call Center patient portal. Telehealth calls are answered by Call Coordinators (CC) who navigate the call. CC’s will identify which state a patient is calling from and will check the physician availability status for a physician licensed in that state. The CC will send a text message though the Physician application to an available physician notifying them that a patient is on the line. As soon as the coordinator gathers relevant patient intake information, they will merge the patient and physician into a virtual consultation room. If the physician requests, the patient can press the photo option to upload a photograph into the patient portal. The physician can also request the video option to become initiated. The photos will self-delete after transfer. It is critical the application reside on a stable an efficient platform to seamlessly manage the flow of real time care when medical events occur.
