Explore Philadelphia's oldest graveyard and learn about the people who are buried here. You'll find some early European settlers, who were here before William Penn. Our burial ground also includes the final resting places of many war heroes who fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War and more recent battles such as World War II. You’ll also find farmers, mariners, scientists, artists, merchants, bankers, composers, ministers, homemakers, students, and craftsmen — representing a cross-section of local Philadelphia history.
