The ASTB (Aviation Selection Test Battery) is used by the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard to select candidates for pilot and flight officer training programs. A shorter version of the ASTB called the Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR) is used by the U.S. Navy to select candidates for Officer Candidate School (OCS). These exams are used by the organizations discussed above to determine a candidate's future success in military officer training programs. A candidate must do well on the respective exams to have a better chance of being offered a commissioning slot. The ASTB incorporates 7 subtests, including the 3 subtests in the OAR. In addition, it includes the Aviation and Nautical Information Test (ANIT), Naval Aviation Trait Facet Inventory (NAFTI), Performance Based Measures Battery (PBM), and the Biographical Inventory with Response Validation (BI-RV). This app has lessons covering all of the tests discussed above so that the app will prepare you for the ASTB or OAR. Furthermore, it is the only product with a simulator to help you prepare for the UAV Component, Terrain Identification Component, and the Stick and Throttle portions of the PBM. The ASTB and OAR are digital tests, and they are not linear in the way questions are asked.
