Die NRWskulptur-App präsentiert eine ständig wachsende Auswahl an herausragender Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, bei der nicht nur Kunstinteressierte, Tourist*innen und (Rad-)Wander*innen voll auf ihre Kosten kommen. In der neuesten Version der App gibt es nun auch ein Skulpturen-Radar, mit dem auf Knopfdruck alle verzeichneten Kunstwerke in der Nähe gefunden werden. Außerdem informieren auf Wunsch nun Push-Benachrichtigungen über Neuigkeiten zur Kunst im öffentlichen Raum NRWs. Neben beeindruckender Kunst aus der Zeit nach 1945, liefert die App auch Routenvorschläge sowie zahlreiche Informationen zu den einzelnen Werken und Künstler*innen. Interessierte können sich mit den Routenvorschlägen bequem von Skulptur zu Skulptur führen lassen. Interessante Informationen über die Skulpturen und ihre Bedeutung sind somit entweder direkt vor Ort oder bereits vorab bei der Planung der Route verfügbar. Öffentliche Kunst, der in den Parks und Plätzen der Städte oftmals zu wenig Beachtung geschenkt wird, tritt durch die App in den Vordergrund. Die mit großem finanziellen und organisatorischen Aufwand installierten Skulpturen verarbeiten Elemente des Ortes auf architektonische, historische oder ästhetische Weise. Unterstützung erfährt das Kunstprojekt des Kultursekretariats NRW Gütersloh durch das Förderprogramm „Regionale Kulturpolitik“ des Landes NRW. Die Besucher*innen erleben nicht nur ihnenbisher unbekannte, herausragende Kunst, sondern erfahren zugleich etwas über die städtischen Rahmenbedingungen, die Gesellschaft und das kulturpolitische Klima des Ortes. Die App eröffnet die Welt der Kunst auf unkomplizierte und interessante Art und Weise für alle – auch für vorher noch unentdeckte Kunstliebhaber*innen.

Animations and other supplementary elements offer exciting background information and baffling effects, allowing you to virtually become immersed in the works of art. A range of tours for adults and children enables you to discover the collection according to your individual interests. Audio as well as video content and introductory texts provide useful background information on more than 100 works from the collection. The spectrum of our collection, which comprises over 100,000 objects, reaches beyond that of nearly any other museum in Germany. Under its roof, the Kunstpalast unites virtually all artistic genres and a multitude of historical periods. Visitors are invited to embark on a journey through an international art history, starting with paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings dating from the medieval and early modern periods and further encompassing classic works of the 20th century and today. Applied arts and design as well as a unique glass collection further broaden the scope of the collection. Positions of artists from all continents, with a particular focus on Japanese and Islamic art, offer an unparalleled diversity of works.
