Chairs! Organic Chemistry Game 與 Backside Attack 使用情況與統計

Master organic chemistry with the only interactive puzzle game designed for understanding chair conformations. Awarded “top chemistry app” by the Royal Society of Chemistry and 2016 finalist for the SXSW LaunchEDU award. Success in organic chemistry courses and on exams such as the MCAT, GRE or DAT requires learning to think visually. Hands-on practice is critical to success. Memorizing terms and formulas might get you through general chemistry, but may lead to failure in organic chemistry. Chair conformations, called ring flips, offer great exercises in spatial reasoning, which is key for mastering organic chemistry. Yet hand drawing these cyclohexane chair forms can be tricky. We created this game to prove organic chemistry can be visual, tactile and, yes, entertaining. This visual pattern puzzle game provides a fun and fast method for mastering chair (or cyclohexane) ring flips. Chairs! takes the mystery out of ring flips by offering instant feedback. During game play, as levels increase, so too does the complexity of these organic chemistry puzzles against the clock. There's no need to understand organic chemistry to play. With over 13 challenging levels, we will help you master this tough concept with ease. Recommended by professors at the University of Minnesota, University of Michigan, University of Edinburgh, and others. Backside Attack is an educational app targeting students learning organic chemistry for the first time. The game focuses on the SN2 reaction, which is often one of the first reactions students learn when studying organic chemistry. The SN2 reaction is great for educational purposes, as it provides a forum for students to learn about many common variables associated with chemical reactions, such as leaving group ability, nucleophilicity, steric factors, and solvent effects. The Backside Attack project is led by Dr. Neil Garg, an organic chemistry Professor at UCLA. He and six UCLA students (now alumni) devoted countless hours to creating the game flow and all content. The heroic students are: Tara Kappel, Preeya Mehta, William Parsons Stefan Prisacaru, Ernst Schmid, and Justin Soffer. Backside Attack is powered by Element26, Inc., thanks to Dr. Daniel D. Caspi. Students, be sure to: Learn even more and earn points by using the Check Yourself +50 feature on the scoring screen! Unlock the Chem Yourself feature by completing each topic!
