Das Dorf Schüpfen mit seinen zehn Aussendörfern Allenwil, Bundkofen, Bütschwil, Gsteig, Hard, Saurenhorn, Schüpberg, Schwanden, Winterswil und Ziegelried befindet sich am Eingang des Seelandes. Als ländliche und doch moderne Gemeinde, zentral gelegen zwischen den zwei grössten Städten des Kantons Bern (Bern und Biel), ist Schüpfen der ideale Ort, um sesshaft zu werden. Sowohl moderne Bauten als auch viele ältere, vielfach geschützte oder erhaltenswerte, Wohnhäuser prägen das Dorfbild. Schüpfen bietet mit seinen diversen Restaurants und Hotels genügend Angebote, um sich kulinarisch verwöhnen zu lassen. Schüpfen liegt an der Bahnlinie Bern – Biel und ist dadurch sehr gut mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr erschlossen.
