You will need to collect fruits in order to feed them, then sell them and gather money from them. You decide whether invest in your kingdom and provide better houses for a living and build new facilities or direct your money to create your military forces from an army of dwarves. After you can go mining into deep mines to get valuable stones and gems, don't forget to take your troops with you, because the deeper you go dangerous it becomes, and who knows what lives under the deep grounds. If you get a chance to collect those gems you can after sell them for a good price.
