On our team, you never have to go it alone. You’ll find a guide (Carrie Clark), allies (other members), and all the tools and resources you need to help children with communication challenges. A lot of children are struggling right now in a lot of ways. Many of those children are struggling to learn communication skills. Parents are stressed, speech-language pathologists are over-worked, and teachers are short-staffed. They say it takes a village to raise a child but we don't live in close-knit villages anymore! Our friends, families, and like-minded colleagues may be far away and hard to lean on. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still find our village. Technology has the ability to divide us, but it also has the power to bring us together if we use it right. Join our community of heroes helping children with communication challenges. We will be your village. Imagine a World …where each child with a communication challenge had caregivers, teachers, and speech-language pathologists all working together on the same skills in the same ways! Imagine how much progress that child could make if we all had access to the same tools, resources, and support. …where we reduce the shortage of speech-language pathologists and professionals by fostering the next batch of SLPs coming through our gateways. …where you are no longer stressed out by the challenges of supporting a child/children with communication challenges because you have everything you need to confidently teach speech/language/communication skills and to manage everything that goes along with it. …where you're not doing this alone anymore. You have a team of people who believe in you and who are rooting for you. And a team that you can go to when your lesson goes awry or you don't know how to tackle the next challenge in front of you. Join us if you are - A speech-language professional (SLPs, SLPAs, SaLTs, etc.) - A speech-language pathology student (Grad, Undergrad, SLPA, etc.) - A caregiver of a child with communication challenges (Parent, Guardian, Family Member, Nanny, etc.) - An educator or professional working with children with communication challenges (Teacher, Aide, Therapist, Para, etc.) We'll provide you with the support you need to confidently face the obstacles in front of you and to help the children who depend on you to be the best versions of themselves possible. Improve your child's articulation and pronunciation! Brought to you by a Speech Language Pathologist and the creator of the SpeakEasy: Home Speech Therapy app which has accelerated early language development for over 100,000 families. With Articulation Teacher, you choose specific sounds to work on with your child. You can work on Early Sounds like D or T, Middle Sounds like G or S, or Late Sounds like L or R. Articulation Teacher includes at home articulation activities to do with your child outside of the app as well as games to play with your child in the app. All suggestions are evidence-based and research-backed. Let's dive into what each sound set includes: --- In-App Games Our articulation games are best played side by side with your child, but if your child is up for it they can play the games on their own as well. For each sound, we have the following games: Splat: say the selected word, and have your child splat it from the choices on the screen! Name It: our simplest game, this is meant for rapidly trying to say different words using digital flash cards. Swipe to the next word and help your child say it out loud. Sound Check: look at and listen to each word, and have your child decide whether the word includes the sound you're working on or not. Space Match: play this out-of-this-world memory game, saying each word as you flip over each card, to work on both articulation and cognitive skills. Paper Games: print a list of articulation practice words and play these games around your house, bringing articulation practice directly into the world around you. --- Home Activities Each sound has 5 activities to try with your child at home. You can read these activities ahead of time, then do them with your child when you can. We recommend trying to do at least one Home Activity each day, and we encourage repetition as much as possible! Home Activities that focus on pronunciation and articulation are the most effective way to spend time with your child to work on speech development. We use videos, books, songs, and the world around you to help integrate articulation practice into every day. --- What Sounds and Letters Are Included? In Articulation Teacher, you can work on the following sounds: Early Sounds: B, P, M, D, T, N, and Vowels Intermediate Sounds: K, G, W, F, S, SH, and Multisyllabic Words Advanced Sounds: L, Final -L, R, R Blends, S Blends, and TH --- More Features Each sound also has an intro video that teaches you how the sound is made, as well as a digital and printable cue card which you can use to help remind your child to pronounce a sound. This cue card fits within the cueing hierarchy explained in the intro video. Cues are an essential part of articulation practice that we integrate directly into our games and activities. Plus, check out developmental milestones to know if your child is on track, and read free learning articles related to articulation development. Articulation Teacher is also meant to be used by SLPs during their sessions as an aid to articulation practice.
