The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is the region's longest running and most anticipated annual golf event. Since its creation in 1989, the tournament has been bringing together global golfing stars, in a celebration of world- class sport, alongside food and entertainment. In 2022 the Dubai Desert Classic become part of the Rolex Series, the DP World Tour’s premium category that deliver the highest quality of golf. EGF

The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) was formed in 1995 and is the Governing Body of Golf in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The EGF administrates and provides the United States Golf Association (USGA) Handicap System to all EGF members. The EGF sanctions all Professional and Amateur golf events in the UAE. Currently the EGF represents over 7,500 members both directly through the EGF and also throughout the 20 golf clubs across the UAE. The EGF is a non-profit organization with the goals and responsibility of increasing awareness and participation in golf. The EGF actively conducts an Order of Merit Season, Junior Development Programs, and Junior, Ladies, and Senior National Team Programs.
