Acupressure works by targeting certain pressure points on the body with steady force and is thought to be a way of regulating body energy, aiding in healing disease, and promoting health.
Acupressure points when stimulated over various reflex areas act on nerve endings in that region. There are multiple pressure points on the hands and feet, which are reflex areas to various organs just like a switch connected to a bulb. This is how an organ is stimulated by stimulating a certain point by applying pressure.
Acupressure aims to eliminate the root cause of the problem/illness, which is said to originate as a dysfunction in the energy system of the body.
