AC Tourist 與 River Plus Project 使用情況與統計
AC Tourist is a part of the global platform that will enable mass adoption of AR compatible devices, including smart glasses by Apple, Google, and Microsoft.
The Augmented.City platform developed by an Italian technology startup consists of three key solutions – a free SDK for developers, AR software, and mobile apps for scanning surrounding objects and demonstrating augmented reality. AC Tourist is exactly the application responsible for the demonstrating part.
As soon as an smartphone is pointed on a real object, additional information from augmented reality will be displayed in the mapped city.
For now the tourists and the inhabitants of the following cities can use the application: Bari (South Italy) – the whole city, St.Petersburg (some parts of the city center), Amsterdam (the Dam Square).
The application shows the following information on top of the buildings in real time:
- TripAdvisor ratings and reviews for the restaurants;
- historical facts about tourist attractions;
- construction plans.

The River Plus Project area is characterized by rich cultural and natural heritage. The municipalities of Irakleia, Sidiki and Emmanuil Papa in Greece crossed by the river Struma or Strymonas, have large areas with rich natural environment or protected areas. In addition, they belong to rural and remote areas with low development of Eco-tourism, thematic tourism and possibilities for the development of cross-border cooperation.
Similarities in the natural and social environment of the partners are reflected in common problems, issues, challenges and opportunities exploitation of natural and cultural resources and local traditional activities.
General objective of the project: Strengthening the tourist attractiveness of the region through cross-border cooperation, for the protection and promotion of the local natural and cultural heritage and natural resources.
