Buoyancy Calculator is a physics/math calculator designed to find fluid density, volume, buoyant force, or weight of displaced fluid quickly and easily. Features: - Instant calculation - Results are copyable to other apps - Formulas are included as a reference - Support up to 16 decimal places - Support various units for each input In physics, buoyancy or upthrust is an upward force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of an immersed object. In a column of fluid, pressure increases with depth due to the weight of the overlying fluid. Therefore, the pressure at the bottom of a column of fluid is greater than at the top. Similarly, the pressure at the bottom of an object submerged in a fluid is greater than at the top, resulting in a net upward force on the object. This force is proportional to the pressure difference and, according to Archimedes' principle, is equivalent to the weight of the displaced fluid. It is also known as buoyant force. For this reason, an object denser than the fluid it is submerged in tends to sink. If the object is less dense than the liquid or is shaped appropriately (as in a boat), the force can keep the object afloat. This can occur only in a non-inertial reference frame with a gravitational field or is accelerating due to a force other than gravity, defining a "downward" direction. In a situation of fluid statics, the net upward buoyancy force is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body. Buoyant force equation: The buoyant force is given by the following formula: B = ρ * V * g The weight of the displaced liquid is obtained by multiplying the volume by density: W = ρ * V where: ρ is the density of the liquid in which the object is immersed, measured in kg/m³ V is the volume of the displaced liquid, measured in m³ g is the gravitational acceleration, measured in m/s² B is the buoyant force W is the weight of the displaced liquid in kg Thanks for your support, and do visit nitrio.com for more apps for your iOS devices.
