Visit the City of Winchester, Virginia and explore the sites of its rich Civil War history. This guided audio tour of Winchester's Civil War history will highlight 25 different stories throughout the city and surrounding areas. The City of Winchester was the most contested city of the Civil War. Between March of 1862 and September of 1864, the town changed hands dozens of times and saw six battles. By 1865, Winchester had been devastated by constant combat, marching armies, requisitioning and pillaging, caring for the wounded, and destruction.
