This application provides interactive versions of standard Montessori materials that are used in mathematics education at Montessori schools all around the world. These materials cover elementary mathematical concepts and are intended for children of age 4-9 years. They stimulate imagination, encourage desire to experiment and help to learn the basics of mathematics in an entertaining way.
Montessori education is an educational approach based on the principles proposed by the Italian physician and teacher Maria Montessori (1870-1952). It is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom and respect for a child's natural development. The main motto of Montessori pedagogy is: "Help me to do it myself."
Montessori materials included (10 activities in total):
- Red and blue number rods - Includes 4 activities designed to introduce numbers 1 - 9 and numerical order
- Golden bead material - Includes 2 activities designed to introduce the decimal system and quantities up to 1000
- Addition, multiplication and division board - Activities designed to practice elementary mathematical operations in entertaining and challenging ways
- Number tracing - Activity designed to teach tracing of numbers 0 - 9
Mathematical concepts covered:
- Learn numbers up to 1000, numerical order and the decimal system
- Practice addition of single digit numbers
- Practice multiplication of single digit factors
- Practice division with single digit divisors
- Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities

Ages 2-6. Designed for preschoolers and toddlers! Packed with beautiful features, colors and audio, this app will engage young children to explore what makes a fish a fish, what makes a bird a bird, etc. You'll be surprised how much children will learn and retain with this app! We first released it in 2012 and are happy to keep bringing you updates!
In the Learn the Parts section, children will learn to identify the parts and names of different vertebrate animals.
Touch an animal part in the photo-strip to change the featured animal part on the page. Touch the speaker button to hear the correct pronunciation of the animal part and touch the location button to see the animal part highlighted on the diagram!
The Puzzles section contains various puzzle activities based on the famous wooden animal puzzles found in Montessori classrooms.
For the "Shapes" puzzles, find the puzzle piece the matches the shape that is blinking on the diagram. When the piece snaps into position, you will hear it's name pronounced out loud.
For the "Names" puzzles, find the puzzle piece that matches the name displayed on the screen. For children who cannot read, the name at the top can be touched to hear the name aloud for them to know which one to look for.
In the "Free Order" puzzle, simply assemble the puzzle in any sequence you choose.
Learn about horses, elephants, crocodiles, salamanders, frogs, turtles, fish, sharks, birds, and pelicans!
This Montessori application was co-developed and approved by an AMI certified, Montessori teacher with over forty years experience educating children!
