Canada Pre-Solo written examination (PSTAR) for Student Pilot PPL/PSTAR CA PSTAR, or Pre-Solo Test of Air Regulations, is a 50 written questions test that Canadian flight students must pass with a minimum mark of 90% before they can fly solo. You can attend the PSTAR at your flying school whenever you are ready to. If you don't pass, you can try again whenever you want (you'll be presented a different version of the test of course).
