What you can do with YouID Store various types of personal information securely Generate a two-step authentication code (2FA) that can be used to access any online platform that supports 2FA Get notified whenever your password has been breached or your login credentials leaked What you cannot do with YouID You cannot register for government IDs like BVN, NIN, Passport etc. with YouID You cannot link mobile numbers to an individual’s NIN or SIM card with YouID You cannot change or update your existing government ID information with YouID For all of these, you will need to go specifically to the relevant government authority. Your details are safe Add details to your YouID by scanning a government-approved ID document. We accept Passports, Driving Licenses, and National ID cards from all African countries. Any details you add to your YouID are encrypted into unreadable data that only you can unlock. The private encryption key to your data is stored safely on your phone – only you can activate this key and access your details using your Password, PIN, or Biometrics. Privacy policy compliance We do not share your details or data with third parties without your permission.
