Use this app to control carb intake to lower risk of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome (with high blood pressure & high LDL cholesterol), obesity, a variety of cancers, inflammation and difficulty fighting off infection. Inflammation plays a key role in osteoarthritis and heart and circulatory disease, depression and Alzheimer's dementia.
Set your daily carb intake based on guidance provided in the app and your preferences for weights of food (g or oz) and display of carb content in foods and beverages (ie, %target/serving, g/100g or g/1oz, or %target/100g or %target/1oz).
Record food and beverage consumption using the barcode scanner, dictation, search or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided (which can be changed at any time). Tap the notepad to add notes.
Monitor daily and long-term progress, export data to share with healthcare providers, synchronise data with other First Line Medical Communications Ltd nutrient counter apps, and share data with Apple's HealthKit.
Add your own foods and recipes and change serving sizes to personalize the app's 400-item database for you.
The app also provides nutritional information for many healthy foods and supports a healthy gut microbiome diet using color-coded type and icons as follows:
1. All high-carb foods (ie, contain more than 35g of carb per serving) appear in purple type.
2. Plants that can be included as one of the 30 different types of plant per week recommended by experts for a healthy gut microbiome and contain less than 35g of carb per serving are in green type (with a green leaf icon used to indicate a plant in the food popup). Those that are particularly good prebiotics are in dark green type.
3. Probiotics that contain less than 35g of carb per serving are in gold type with a gold microbe icon in the food popup.
4. Foods that are likely to be ultra-processed (UPFs) and contain less than 35g of carb per serving are in red type with a red warning triangle in the food popup.
5. Foods in black type contain less than 35g of carb per serving and are neither UPF, plant, prebiotic nor probiotic and are healthy when consumed in moderation as part of a healthy diet.

Critical Nutrition aims to help you track the daily nutrition of your patients, monitoring calories, volume, protein, lipids, and carbohydrates.
Choose if the nutrition was continuous or in bolus, take account of interruptions, and compare the daily evolution of the patient with customizable objectives.
All this from a fully customizable list of food items, where their nutritional elements can be chosen by you.
Feature List:
- Customize the food taken daily by the patient.
- Choose, for each food, if it was taken one time or in a continuous way. For the latter choose the start time, end time and flow.
- Get the daily and average nutritional trends of the patients, compared with their nutritional objectives. Up to 7 days in the free version, unlimited after unlocking.
- Create new days or duplicate previous ones with their food already prefilled.
- Follow one patient in the free version or up to an unlimited number after unlocking.
- For each patient customize their nutritional objectives, adjusted for weight.
- Create and customize each food with calories, volume, protein, lipids, and carbohydrates.
- Make quick calculations about the nutritional composition of food given to a patient.
