Auctioning since nov.1967, Cayón is a global benchmark for Spanish and Latin American colonial coins, medals and currency. World and ancient coins (Greek, Roman…) are also available.
Member of the major global numismatic bodies (IAPN, PNG, VDDM), we publish the best-seller flagship catalogue for Spanish coins Las Monedas Españolas. We run monthly live auctions online and specials at the Ritz in Madrid-Spain.
Leading the Spanish market, Cayón was the first to have: two live auction rooms Madrid Barcelona (may1972); cd catalogues and historical notes (2000-1); online bidding (01); full-colour catalogues (04); live bidding (10); outbid alerts (nov.2012); Cayón app (jan.17), and the first globally to have: made-for-mobile web (11); online only live auctions (nov.12).
Juan R. Cayón began the business that remains in the family: Adolfo Cayón (1971), a history graduate (UCM), was part of the IAPN Executive Committee and is the President of the AENP. Clemente Cayón (1972) studied Business and was the first to take over. Juan Cayón (1975) is an attorney (ICAM) and has a master’s degree in corporate tax (IE Business School). He was a guest professor for the numismatics program at the UNED (2005-12) and is a court-appointed expert in numismatists and tax law (APEPJIC).
Cayón is the main coin provider to the Spanish Culture Ministry (as of 2009, private sales and Auctions).
Cayón is the only Spanish dealer to attend major coin fairs globally.
