The application "polivoc – Police language guide" was developed in collaboration with operational police personnel and includes about 2600 words and abbreviations, as well as nearly 500 phrases. polivoc is a conversational tool in six languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese) facilitating daily police work. This application is perfectly suited for Community Policing work or police operations in the context of events or demonstrations. polivoc’s efficient search engine and intuitive navigation offer a direct access to adequate resources (words, phrases, expressions, abbreviations). The "bookmark" function allows the user to save frequently used terms for quicker access. The application also provides a voice function enabling users to listen to the terms and phrases. It works offline and its content is updated on a regular basis, notably through user submissions.
