Garden House School developed a simple early reading program to teach the skill of reading phonetically. This app provides parents with the tools to teach the phonic sound of each letter of the alphabet, the skill of blending letter sounds together to make words, and the introduction of a few sight words. Charming illustrations serve as cues to the sound of the letters. The sound of each letter can be heard by touching the “play sound” icon. The intention of this technique is to teach the sound of each letter and not its name.
