Definition of Reverberation Time: The Reverberation Time RT60 is defined as the time required for reflections of a direct sound to decay by 60 dB below the level of the direct sound. As it is usually very difficult to achieve a dynamic range of 60dB two more methods have been established. They are called RT30 and RT20. This is known as the interrupted method, and the measured result is known as the interrupted response.
