Commit your secret(s) to the Vault, where they will be encrypted into Shards and dispatched to Guardians. 5. Retrieve your secrets anytime, provided your Guardians are online. Note: The Vault owner can also be a Guardian, but it's optional (check the “Keep one Shard on my device” checkbox on the Vault creation step). If you decide against retaining a Shard on your device during Vault creation, you'll need 4 devices: the Vault owner and 3 Guardians. If you lose the Vault owner device or one of the Guardians, fear not: you can easily restore your Vault with the consent of the remaining Guardians – ensuring your assets are secure under any circumstances. Word of caution Deleting the app housing your Vault or Shards from your device will cause irreversible loss of them.
