The data once stored in the database is encrypted at rest. These protocols follow HIPAA Safe Harbor guidelines. After the neurologist adds data, he or she will be notified if the patient data was successfully updated. A final timestamp (unique to CodestrokeNeurology) is generated, which can be used for record-keeping by various medical agencies. 1) This app is intended to be used by neurologist doctors, treating an acute stroke patient. 2) The application serves as a secure communications tool, using HIPAA-compliant SSL encryption, for the above professionals to provide early notification of a patient's status. It is intended to supplement, but not replace the primary medical communications channel.
