It is our desire for Christians who fellowship with us currently or with whom we have had contact throughout the years have a place to go regularly to hear updated sermons, come to know our staff, receive notification on prayer requests and events, have a place to give online, and be able to stay connected with us at Calvary Chapel Living Hope. Calvary Chapel Living Hope is an evangelical church located in downtown Oceanside on the corner of Seagaze and Ditmar in the historic building of Oceanside's old First Methodist church, built in 1886. It was birthed 25 years ago when a team of pastors at Calvary Chapel Vista decided that God was leading them to plant a church in the midst of the spiritually dark neighborhood of downtown Oceanside. They came behind Brad Lambert, then assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel of Vista, who was sent out to be pastor of the new church. God allowed Calvary Chapel Living Hope to move multiple times, stretching and growing the patience of everybody involved, before he finally opened the door to the church building where the church currently resides. Since the foundation of the church, God has used it in very special ways to work in the lives of many within and from outside the community of downtown Oceanside. The particular vision that God has given to the laborers of Calvary Chapel Living Hope is that of the establishing of our hearts upon God's new covenant promises given to us in Christ Jesus as a resource for living the obedient and vibrantly fruitful spirit filled life. This is in contrast to burdensome man-centered striving in which many Christians find themselves as they attempt to conform themselves to God's law through their own efforts. The latter will find their end in hypocrisy, deadness, and despair, while the former will find their end in worship of God. In an age in which the institution of the church has come under the accusation of, and often found guilty of, having a man-centered, self-improvement, superficial form of religion, all while denying the true power of the indwelling of Christ in the heart. Calvary Chapel Living Hope seeks to bring a message of truth of the gospel, that in denying ourselves and losing our lives for Christ's sake, that is where life is found through Christ.
